no problem. I used flash to create a slideshow and I also used an automated photo gallery with Adobe Bridge that implements Flash. I think Flash makes things look more appealing and smoother with transitions.

I will have to create an easier-to-maintain photo gallery for one of my sites too. I used Flash to create it. It worked for now. I just might have to contact you to further discuss this issue :)

I too use the Web Developer toolbar. It is an awesome tool. I've learned with all the frustration you may get from developing issues, it all pays off because you'll most likely be able to avoid them later or know the solution right away. One of the issues I had I was ready to give up on and had even asked Tammy to take a look at it to see if she could find the problem. Well I strived to fix it and lo behold I did on my own. It feels great when that happens.

I'm glad you're enjoying working with Joomla and that there are multiple plug-ins and extensions to use. Wordpress is pretty close to Joomla. I have been adding multiple plug-ins to my blog and my client's to add extra features such as spam filters and mobile device format. I hear you on the frustration of digging through the template code to find what you need to customize it for your needs. I too am in that same boat :)

I will have check out the Photo gallery resources you've provided. I'm still looking for an easier way to do the photo gallery for my client that fits in the space allowed on the template. For now I built it all in Flash. It was quite time consuming.

I know where you are coming from with the different browser issues. I run into that constantly with IE. My last project was displaying properly in Safari, Firefox (newer versions) and IE 8 but not IE 7, 6, or 5.5. With all the testing and frustration, it come down to it that there was an additional margin on something that older IE absolutely didn't like. It completely through off my right side navigation buttons. But after looking at the code one last time, it slapped me in the face that I couldn't believe I didn't see it before. Working on a Mac presents it own issues with testing, I have luckily found many resources to help with PC and browser testing.

I am just freaking out about fulfilling all my internship hours for this semester. Unfortunately most of my clients want just real small, basic websites with not much to them. It's a challenge to ensure I get in all the hours I need when my projects only will take me between 20- 30 hours max.

You're one busy girl. I am trying to finish on one project that was started this past summer. I still considering another internship to start - just wanted to tie up a few loose ends.

Let me know how you like working with Joomla more in-depth. I touched on it in the Emerging Web Technologies and Trends class.

The photoshop animation was taught in the Graphics for Web class. I too had used the program animation features for my internship clients. The first project had animation for all the top level pages minus the contact page and the last client has one in the template header. It is really slick.

It is interesting how the clients you're working with are all wanting to manage the sites themselves after the initial design. Good to know.

I'm glad to see your blog up and running! I also deeply appreciate the fact that you went 'backwards' in time and added some previous reflection on what was happening with various clients since you started working on internship projects early before the class started. Most of this was straightforward reflection and updates. I'm glad to see a URL in this posting however it should be an active link instead of plain text. I don't expect you to go backwards however from this point forward; do include more details, active links, sample images. In some of the past postings when you talked say for example about presenting the client with different designs, it would have been nice to either see a link to those designs or images of them! While it is nice to read about what you are doing, a picture sometimes is worth a thousand words, especially in our line of work!
Also as you move forward, consider more article related entries also in addition to just the normal week's update also.
I did like your documentation in this one about the process you went through with the image gallery; a link to the sample would be nice addition as I would love to see that in action. I do think the keyword when it comes to frames is 'sometimes'. We definitely would shy away from it as a layout to an entire web site solution however there are times that there are applications for it within a site. So within applications it might be appropriate, example would be what you see in the online class room we are using, they do use it there! :)

I'm not going to go backwards in time here and comment on each article unless you alert me there is some that you would like me to do that with. I will try to comment on your postings weekly from this point forward!
